This paper does not allow water to escape through the side. The result is a rich tasting cup that leaves the bitterness behind. From our limited experience so far, we found that this extends the brew time as compared to regular Kono paper. Acidity is reduced, but you are given a cleaner cup. In comparison to brewing with regular kono paper side by side: Kono Paper: 15g coffee – 246g water – 2:20min total brew time Kono Silky Paper: 15g coffee – 247g water – 2:59min total brew time.
